Juneteenth Community Quilt

The theme for this year’s Juneteenth Celebration is “walking towards freedom”.  We will be adding to the community quilt we started last year, and invite people to make a 10 x 10 inch square that represents how YOU imagine walking towards Freedom. What does that look like?

Use the 10"x10" piece of white fabric SUPPLIED in the kits we have assembled as the background to create a colorful representation of your vision.

Can’t sew? No worries!

Use fabric glue, paint, permanent makers, sequins, glitter glue or whatever inspires you! Have fun with the swatches included in the , or use your own.

Be creative!

The deadline is June 1st so our quilt can be pieced together in time for our Juneteenth celebration to display as a visual representation of our diverse community!

Drop off by June 1st at: Clinton Memorial AME Zion Church, 610 Third Street, Greenport

Quilt kits available at local libraries (Greenport, Southold, Cutchogue) and The Orient Country Store.
